STAR WARS GEEKS ARE COOL

I was at the midnight opening of "STAR WARS Episode III Return of the Sith" at the Destinta Theatre in Bridgeville last week and it was packed! They were showing STAR WARS on SIX screens and they were all SOLD OUT. Fans started filling the seats at around 8:30pm almost four hours before the movie would begin. I arrived at ten o'clock after I was advised to get there early or "good luck finding a seat". I was amazed at all of the adults dressed like Darth Vador, Princess Leah, Obi Won, Evil Emperor, Queen Amidala and ofcourse Storm Troopers. I have never seen so many adults carrying "light sabres" they even had Light Sabre battles in the parking lot while others were tailgating with a grill awaiting the movie. Some of the light sabres were very expensive "plasma sabres" that cost around $350.

It was a circus before the film started with fans asking Star Wars trivia to pass the time. But when the movie began everyone was quiet and you could tell this was a movie these diehard fans had been awaiting for a long time.

Oh yeah and the movie was awesome. I felt like a kid again watching as this movie tied together all the plots from the original Star Wars trilogy. I even went to rent the old Star Wars movie to see how George Lucas connected the dots. I noticed that alot of the scenery was the same in the new movie. Although the technology is far greater now.

The best part of the new movie? No doubt that we get to see how Annakin Skywalker became Darth Vador. One of the greatest movie villians of all time makes his long awaited appearance in this third installment of Star Wars.

I did not think the movie was really that violent? No blood or guts that I can recall? Definetly more intense than the other movies but still pretty family friendly.
